Hall County Recycling Center
The recycling center is at 1008 Chestnut Street in Gainesville, open Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., with a drop-off area out front that stays open 24 hours. It is the place for electronics (including flat-screen TVs), scrap metal, pots and pans, car and lawnmower batteries, rechargeable lithium batteries, pallets, cooking grease, and empty helium tanks. It does not take old tube TVs, mattresses, furniture, paint, tires, windows, mirrors, or propane tanks.
Free mulch at the landfill
The landfill gives away free mulch Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Ask the scale attendant or call ahead to check what is available.
What a dump run really costs
If you have a truck and one pickup load of light junk, the landfill is the cheapest option: $20 gets you in for up to 665 pounds, plus $10 for each mattress or box spring. The math changes when the job is bigger. A garage cleanout is often several trips, which means several $20 minimums, several hours of loading and unloading, and a weekend gone. Some of it the landfill will not take at all, like brush, stumps, and broken concrete.
That is the work we do. We load everything ourselves, sort out what can be donated, and take each kind of material where it belongs. A single item starts at $125 and a full trailer load starts around $550. See our pricing or text photos to 678-224-1606 for a free quote.
Not in Hall County?
The Hall County Landfill only accepts waste generated in Hall County. If your address is in Jackson County, which covers Jefferson, Hoschton, and much of Braselton, Jackson County runs a transfer station on Landfill Drive in Jefferson instead of a landfill. Landfills in Gwinnett County, which covers most of Buford, are privately owned and charge their own fees. We haul from all of these areas: see Buford, Braselton, Jefferson, Hoschton, or every town we serve.
