Construction and demolition debris
Yard waste and yard debris
Refrigerators, freezers and AC units with refrigerant
Paint
Hazardous or liquid waste
Propane tanks
Animals and animal waste
Glass, Styrofoam and aerosol cans don't go in the recycling bins either. The county does not list a fee for furniture, washers, stoves or water heaters, so call before you bring them.
Tire Amnesty Day
Keep Dawson County Beautiful holds a Tire Amnesty Day once a year in November, when vehicle tires are taken free at the transfer station and tires on rims are $3. Call Dawson County Public Works at 706-265-2774 to confirm this year's date.
Trash pickup in Dawson County
Dawson County does not run curbside pickup outside the city. Residents use the transfer station or hire a private hauler. The county's resident guide lists Elite Sanitation and Waste, Evans Garbage Services, Grogan Disposal, and J&M Garbage. That list may be dated, so call around.
Inside Dawsonville city limits, Red Oak Sanitation collects trash on Wednesdays under a city contract, at $19.90 a month per can. Yard debris goes out the first Wednesday of each month in paper yard bags, up to 4 bags or bundles. The city truck does not take furniture, refrigerators, water heaters, carpet, remodeling debris, paint or tires.
Scrap metal in Dawsonville
400 Waste & Scrap at 63 Daisy Drive in Dawsonville buys scrap metal and junk vehicles and rents roll-off dumpsters. It is open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturday, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Call 706-216-1485.
What a dump run really costs
For a few bags of trash or an old mattress, the transfer station is cheap. Bigger jobs are where it falls apart: a 10-bag limit, a 2-cubic-yard weekly cap, no construction debris, no yard waste, and no posted fee for furniture. A garage or estate cleanout won't fit those rules.
That is the work we do. We load everything ourselves, sort out what can be donated, and haul the rest away. A single item starts at $125 and a full trailer load starts around $550. See our pricing or text photos to 678-224-1606 for a free quote. We serve Dawsonville, Cumming and nearby towns.
